Sometimes it's hard to hear your own voice and identify your needs in all the noise. I offer a space and support for you to untangle what you are feeling. The therapeutic relationship can bring about change and growth, provide grounding in a crisis and help you understand and manage the painful emotions you may be feeling. We can make space for you to explore who you are, as well as where you have come from and who you may be becoming. We work at your pace, but collaboratively and creatively. I won't be prescriptive about how we work, and it is up to you if you'd like to work for a limited number of sessions (6 or 12, for example) or open-ended.
My fee for a 50 minute session is £80. I feel strongly that counselling should be accessible, and to that end I do offer some concessionary slots so get in touch to check if I currently have space for a lower fee, if cost is a barrier to you.
Sessions are 50 minutes, but longer sessions are possible - we can discuss what best fits your needs. Whilst I generally work on a weekly basis, fortnightly sessions are a possible option.
I have a private therapy room in a peaceful setting in Borough, SE1. I also offer sessions online, or we can do a mixture of both.
Confidentiality is crucial for therapy to work, and to help build trust between us. There are some important exceptions to this, which relate to safety - your own, and other people's. If you tell me something which suggests risk of serious harm to you or someone else, I have an obligation to share that with the relevant authority or agency. You can find out more about how I manage confidentiality through the counselling agreement I'll share with you before we start therapy. For more detail on how I adhere to data protection rules, please see my privacy policy.
It's really important that the fit feels right for both of us, and we would use the first session, which is the standard length and fee, to get a good sense of each other and establish if we feel we can work together. You are free to ask me about how I work and what I can offer. If for any reason I am not the right therapist for you, I will do my best to signpost other therapists and avenues for you to access support.
I work with adults, 18+, on an individual basis. I work across a whole range of issues and presentations, including but not limited to grief; depression; anxiety; trauma; neurodivergence; parenting; perinatal issues, fertility; disability; illness; relationships and sexuality; families; gender and identity.
Yes, I support therapists and other professionals and organisations in a supervisory capacity. Contact me on bhargreavecounselling@gmail.com to explore how I can best support you.
